Confirmed: Kanye West, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon Are On James Blake’s New Album

Earlier this year James Blake alluded to the possibility that Kanye West and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon would appear on his new album Radio Silence and now in a new interview he has confirmed the collaborations are a reality.

“I can confirm that they’re on it,” Blake told Esquire (via Pitchfork). “Kanye — I’m with him today. We’d already started on something … today we should nail something down. If it doesn’t end up on the album you know it hasn’t worked.”

The confirmation comes after Blake performed the album’s title track, Radio Silence, during his set at Latitude festival this past weekend, where he also revealed the song had actually already been a part of a number of his other festival sets this year.

Astute James Blake, Yeezy and Bon Iver aficionados will be aware that this is not the first time the music a-listers have collaborated.

Blake and Vernon previously teamed up on song called Fall Creek Boys Choir, while Kanye and Vernon worked together on a number of Yeezus tracks, including I Am a God and Hold My Liquor. To sweeten the company, Kanye once called Blake his “favourite artist.”

Radio Silence will follow James Blake’s 2013 Mercury Prize-winning release Overgrown.
