Splendour Announce Catfish And The Bottlemen Replacement Act

Splendour In The Grass was hit with a last-minute cancellation this morning when UK rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen called off their appearance at this weekend’s festival at the eleventh hour, citing “illness in the band and crew”. Now organisers have announced who will replace the UK act.

According to triple j, organisers have confirmed that Brisbane rockers DZ Deathrays have joined the Splendour In The Grass 2015 line-up and will take over Catfish And The Bottlemen’s set at the Amphitheatre stage on Friday at 3.15 pm.

No word yet if they’ll bust out their famed covers of Darude’s Sandstorm or their base-less re-imagining of Puretone’s 1998 hit Addicted To Bass. We’ll keep you up to date with any more news as it develops.

Catfish pulled the plug on their whole trip to Australia this morning, forfeiting their appearances at both Splendour as well as their headlining sideshows, due to kick off tonight in Melbourne. They’ve also canned their slot at this year’s Fuji Rock festival in Japan.
