The Whitlams Announce National Tour

Beloved Aussie piano rockers The Whitlams are saddling up for a national tour, just for the love of touring.

The Sydney alt-rock veterans will perform seven dates across the East Coast and Adelaide this September, including both metropolitan and some regional stops around their native NSW.

Kicking off in Newcastle on Thursday, 3rd September, the awesome foursome will then head to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne – where they’ll perform two shows – before going interstate to Adelaide and then returning to wrap things up in Revesby.

“We’ve settled into a pattern of going around the country as a four-piece once every 12 months,” explains founding member and singer-songwriter Tim Freedman. “It’s the most raucous three weeks of the year for me and it can’t come around too soon.”

The band will also be bringing along a range of opening acts on the tour, including respected musician Perry Keyes with his full band in Sydney, Battleships in Melbourne and Amber Rae Slade and the Mighty Big Noise in Brisbane.

The Whitlams’ current lineup, which features Jak Housden on guitar, Warwick Hornby on bass and Terepai Richmond on drums, has been together since 2001. They’ve recorded a whole bunch critically and commercially successful albums together including 2002’s number 1 LP Torch The Moon, and 2006’s Little Cloud.

The band will be performing material from across their seven-album discography on the tour. Check out their full list of 2015 dates, below.
