Albert Hammond Jr To Play Laneway Festival 2016?

Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr may be the latest artist to leak his place on the 2016 Laneway Festival lineup, having revealed his plans to tour Australia early next year with his third solo album Momentary Masters.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, Hammond Jr revealed he plans on coming to Australia for a February tour next year, making him a perfect candidate for the Laneway festivities. It would also be a nice way to make up for his cancelled 2008 Australian tour and Splendour appearance, after he pulled out due to illness.

Should Hammond Jr’s planned February tour include a Laneway appearance, he is now the third act to let the cat out of the bag, after Scottish electronic producer Hudson Mohawke’s let slip his spot on the lineup earlier this year, only to be followed shortly after by the loose-lipped Canadian duo Purity Ring.

Laneway Festival 2015 featured notable performances from the likes of Banks, Caribou, FKA twigs, Flying Lotus and Courtney Barnett. The first hints at the 2016 lineup arrived in March, via the festival’s fifth annual South By Southwest party.
