Confirmed: The Amity Affliction & A Day To Remember Will Join Forces For The ‘Big Ass Tour’

After a tour poster leaked overnight, Australian hardcore mainstays The Amity Affliction and US heavyweights A Day To Remember have now confirmed they will be joining forces and heading out on a co-headline tour across the country this December.

Rumours of the tour sparked overnight, when an alleged poster for the so-titled Big Ass Tour was shared across social media, announcing Amity and ADTR’s five day jaunt across Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane, alongside US acts The Ghost Inside and Motionless In White.

A Day To Remember vocalist Jeremy McKinnon has today confirmed the poster’s validity, telling triple j the idea for the joint tour was born at ATDR’s Self-Help Festival in California this year, and adding that he “can’t wait” to visit to Australia for the first time since ADTR played Soundwave in 2014.

“Australia is our favourite place to play in the world so any excuse we can get to be there is great one,” he says. “Honestly I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad tour in Australia.”

“You can’t say no to A Day To Remember,” The Amity Affliction’s Joel Birch adds. “They’re a force to be reckoned with in their own right. I think it’s going to be a good fit.”

Birch also promised fans that Amity’s live show will be “stepping it up significantly”.

“This is probably going to be the first tour we’ve ever done where the production’s going to match the venue. As opposed to just being some confetti, it’ll actually be an event.”
