The MTV Video Music Awards are currently happening over in the states and amongst host Miley Cyrus constantly reminding us that she smokes weed and Nicki Minaj ending and starting beef with every other celebrity there, Kanye West just dropped a bombshell: that he is planning on running for president of the United States.
The, shall we say BOLD, statement came at the conclusion of a monster length, sprawling diatribe of an acceptance award after being presented the Vanguard Video Award (kind of the VMAs Hall of Fame) from ex-nemesis Taylor Swift where he said he would run for Prez in 2020.
The 13 minute speech, on everything from capitalism’s effect on youth to people calling him bad words and booing him (poor Yeezy) was just another WTF moment in the history of the VMAs but the concluding promise to run for the highest office in the land in five years time is definitely a doozie.
Can you imagine though? President Kanye West. First Lady Kim Kardashian! First daughter North West! Secretary of State Beyonce???
Although like most things Kanye spouts, it should be taken with a grain of salt, it really wouldn’t surprise us if he followed through with it, especially given the ~success~ so far of human mop Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
