Motörhead’s Lemmy Walks Offstage Mid-Show Due To Health Issues

Motörhead‘s extensive tour schedule had people thinking that frontman Lemmy was back to full health after battling problems since 2013, however, it seems he is really struggling.

The 69 year-old rocker called a show off after three songs in Austin, Texas looking to be tired and short of breath.

“I can’t do it,” Lemmy said just as Metropolis was beginning, as you can see in the video below. The band had already played Damage Case, Stay Clean and We Are Motörhead.

“You are one of the best gigs in America, and I would love to play for you, but I can’t… So please accept my apologies. Next time, all right,” he returned to the stage briefly to say.

“I’ve had to really cut back on smoking and drinking and whatever. But it is what it is. I’ve had a good life, a good run. I do what I do still. I’m sure I’ll die on the road, one way or another.”

Following the abandoned Austin gig Motorhead released a statement, announcing that “Lemmy will resume duties the moment he is PROPERLY rested and firing on all cylinders again.”

“The legendary Motörheadbanger patience is much appreciated, and the band send their deepest thanks. More details will be released soon,” it concludes.

Last month Motörhead released their 22nd studio album Bad Magic. The band have a long year ahead in terms of touring the album with 40th Anniversary shows also planned across Europe. In addition, they will headline their own cruise-ship festival later this month.

As you might have heard, Motörhead again had to abbreviate a performance due to Lemmy not feeling well. This is a DIRECT…
