Justin Bieber Explains Why He Cried At VMAs, Sounds Pretty Genuine

PLEASE NOTE: watching this video of Justin Bieber explaining why he cried at the VMA’s may actually cause you to feel something other than aggressively negative emotions towards Justin Bieber.

Look, we here at Music Feeds have never been ones to erect our tents upon the smugly mowed lawns of Camp Biebs.

We giggled when someone put him in a headlock and turfed him out of Coachella, we guffawed when he posted and then hastily deleted a photo of his bare Bieber buttocks, and we had a good old LOL when he was lured by a cute dog and then served with lawsuit papers.

But nobody wants to see a little Bieber cry. And that’s exactly what he did onstage following his performance at the MTV Video Music Awards the other day.

If you missed it, it’s probably because you, like the rest of the internet, were distracted by Kanye West announcing his intentions to run for President of the United States in 2020. But the MTV awards ceremony was also party to an equally unlikely moment of genuine human emotion from that serial dick, Bieber. And now he’s explained why.

Speaking with everyone’s favourite celebrity translator Jimmy Fallon, the singer opened up about what compelled him to baptise the VMAs stage with his glistening Bieber tears, and the results are bound to leave proud Bieber-bashers facing a legitimate internal crisis.

Because Biebs actually comes across as down-to-earth, calm and even – dare we even say it – likeable during the Fallon chat.

“It was just so overwhelming for me…the performance, I missed some cues so I was a little disappointed at that, and just everyone…the support,” he began.

“I was honestly – let me breath for a second – I just wasn’t expecting them to support me in the way they did… last time I was at an awards show I was booed… I’ve worked so hard on this album, I’ve worked so hard at just becoming the man I want to become and then stepping into situations you can’t help but feel judged… I just put everything on the line.”

Could it be that, like Pinocchio before him, a single moment of bravery and truthfulness has finally transformed Justin Bieber from a bratty, glorified wooden muppet into a real, human boy?

You be the judge.

And if you happen to find yourself, in spite of everything you once thought you knew and believed, involuntarily starting to get excited about the fact that Biebs is coming to Australia this month, then fear not, friend. We’re right there riding the belieber train with you.
