Justin Bieber Crashed A Small Town Covers Gig, Ripped A Tasty Drum Solo To ‘Uptown Funk’

I know exactly what you’re thinking. Did someone on the Music Feeds staff get drunk and accidentally write “Justin Bieber” in this headline instead of “Dave Grohl”?

The answer to that question is, first of all, how much we drink at work is none of your god damn business, and, secondly, no, this was no accident.

Welcome to Justin Bieber 2.0, a strange and emotionally confusing new world where the bratty turd we’ve all grown to joyfully mock over the years is actually praised by his peers, isn’t afraid to show real human emotion and intermittently displays actual musical integrity.

The latest example of this new Bieber paradigm involves the singer making a surprise cameo at a small-town gig in Angola, Indiana where a covers band called Bonafide were playing.

The Biebs joined the band onstage, behind the drum kit no less, to lay down some tasty rhythmical shapes, first freestyle and then over a recording of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk.

As NME reports, Bonafide member Heidi Herber told local TV station WANE that the Biebs had initially tried to keep a low profile at the club.

“He just looked like a normal kid in the bar, except for the hat and hoodie,” she said. “We had no idea [he was going to be there], in fact, he was one of the first people in bar.”

Biebs then took to Twitter after the gig, presumably after having himself one heck of a good time, writing: “Small town living is the best”.

Oh, and just in case you didn’t know, Bieber is also coming to Australia this month. Who knows what further artistically respectable and Dave Grohl-like shenanigans he might get up to.

Only time will tell.
