Returning with new single Wax On Wax Off, from his forthcoming album With The People, Citizen Kay has just announced a run of shows around the country to accompany the release.
The follow up to previous single Freedom, taken from the mini-album Demokracy, Wax On Wax Off is a seriously sensual slice of smooth and soulful hip hop. Led by a massive hook and intuitive groove, Kay ties the whole track together with his lyrical prowess and tight flow.
Judging from the single, With The People promises to be one of the most exciting hip hop releases of the year. The album sees Kay once again working with writing/production partner Ben Garden, and is due for release on October 16.
No stranger to our sun-kissed shores Kay has toured here before with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Earl Sweatshirt & Danny Brown, Run The Jewels, Ice Cube, Public Enemy as well as doing his own headline shows and playing with great local talent like T’kay Maidza and Seth Sentry.
For this turn around this great land of our the rapper is joined by rising stars Coda Conduct, the feisty female duo getting a lot of buzz from their entertaining live shows.
Set to take in some regional east coast centres as well as all the east coast capitals, Adelaide, and Perth, tickets are on sale now.
