System Of A Down Help Save Fan’s Life During Brutal Concert

Rock heavyweights System Of A Down have helped save someone’s life by stopping a performance mid-set so paramedics could attend to a fan who was allegedly trampled and suffocated during the group’s slot at Riot Fest in Chicago over the weekend.

As Wrestle Zone reports, aspiring pro wrestler Steve Schneider (pictured) had a near fatal experience during System Of A Down’s set, after falling onto muddy ground and having multiple people fall on top of him.

Judging by how Mr Schneider describes the incident, he really was lucky to escape with his life.

“I fell over during System Of A Down, then someone fell on top of me so I couldn’t breathe,” Mr Schneider says.

“Then once they got up, someone else fell on top of me. It was never ending. At one point I had someone on top of my back, and someone either sitting or standing on my head, pushing my face down into mud.

“I couldn’t breathe the entire time, but then any breath I could take I was close to inhaling muddy water. It was the scariest thing in my entire life cause I had no idea how long I’d be trapped for.”

As the footage below shows, System Of A Down stopped their show multiple times to help Mr Schneider and other punters get the attention they needed. Mr Schneider has thanked the band for their assistance, even though he doesn’t remember what happened after he blacked out.

“Apparently System Of A Down had to stop playing so paramedics could get me out, I was unconscious at that point so I have no memory of it,” Mr Schneider says.

“Both of my eyes are blood red from passing out due to lack of air and someone crushing my head and screaming for my life.”

System Of A Down’s Riot Fest set was interrupted multiple times, with many people being pulled out of the crowd. In the crowd-shot footage below, frontman Serj Tankian can be heard telling the audience, “We love playing big shows but it’s not worth one person getting hurt, so thank you guys for your patience… It’s extremely awkward to sing when there are people who look like they’re dying right in front of me.”

Catch that footage alongside photos of Mr Schneider’s injuries, below, and let’s keep each other safe out there yeah?

(P.S. Look out for the champ with a laptop who was either sharing the gig with a friend on Skype or forgot to bring a more portable camera)
