Listen To Disclosure’s Collaboration With Lorde ‘Magnets’

Disclosure‘s forthcoming album Caracal has its fair share of big name features, from Sam Smith to The Weeknd, but none have created more hype than the duo’s anticipated collaboration with Kiwi songstress Lorde, Magnets.

After waiting since news of a collaboration broke in June, Magnets has finally been unleashed with Lorde dropping by Apple’s Beats 1 station to spin the track for the first time and give people an insight into the track.

“They’re very young like me and I feel like we’re navigating this weird world together where we play a club and they’re like ‘well, you’re actually not old enough to be in this club, we’re going to have to monitor you very strictly’,” she said.

“We figured out this interesting concept which I really wanted to write about for a while. The song is about that moment you realise you’re about to do something that’s wrong and you’re not in your right mind because your blinded by how badly you want to do whatever it is.”

It’s the first thing we’ve heard from Lorde since she contributed to the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt.1 soundtrack last year. She’s currently working on the follow-up to her mighty debut Pure Heroine and by the sounds of it, it’s coming along really nicely.

“I am feeling really good. I think I just hit on the sonic blueprint of it which is exciting,” she told Beats 1.

“From a lyrical perspective it’s some of the best stuff I’ve ever written.”

No word on when it will be released yet, but the Disclosure collaboration is pretty damn spectacular so that should tide us over for the moment. Hear the full song and the interview with Beats 1 below.

Disclosure’s Caracal is officially out tomorrow.
