5 Reasons To Get Out Of The City And Head To VANFEST

VANFEST is returning to the New South Wales town of Forbes this year, packing a stellar lineup including the likes of John Butler Trio, Birds Of Tokyo, Rudimental, Illy and homegrown outfit Sticky Fingers, to name but a few.

That’s not all though, the Forbes fest, set to take place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December, is also set up with an impressive array of food and drink outlets, schmick VIP bars, meet and greet opportunities, communal hang areas and a whole stack of sick camping packages – and yes, we’re talking glamping here.

With this summer’s Aussie festival lineup filled to the brim with options, here’s five reasons you should get out of the city and head for a weekend to VANFEST in Forbes.

Road Trips Are Dope

Yeah, sure, getting on the local bus with a sneaky goonsack for the 30 min trip to the city-adjacent festival is ~fun~ but you know whats funner? Most things and also road trips.

Saddle up the Toyota with an eskie, some sweet tunes, ample snacks and some mates and head out on the old open road, Kerouac style.

Forbes Is Bloody Beautiful

Instagramable AF regional town Forbes doesn’t get the accolades it deserves in the looks department. Yeah a Harbour is great and all Sydney, but sometimes you just have to escape the city and you know, keep in mind that we live in a bloody big country,

Forbes is awash with sanctuaries, National Parks, heritage buildings and a pretty magnificent lake complete with 4.8 km of walking and cycle tracks, birdlife and aquatic wildlife. The perfect reason to extend your stay, pack a picnic and get see some freaken nature.

That Lineup Tho

So yeah we’ve already mentioned John Butler Trio, Birds Of Tokyo, Rudimental, Illy and Sticky Fingers, but don’t forget the VANFEST lineup also features Brisbane indie-pop troupe Sheppard, genre-blending outfit Bootleg Rascal, Canberra duo Peking Duk, blues/rock project Twin Fires, Sydney hot shot producer Kilter and Australian DJ export Stacie Todd.

Get Ya Glamp On

Yes, a lot of camping festivals offer the glamping approach but VANFEST’s looks particurlaly inviting with super lush options that come complete with a double size aero bed, a duvet, cotton linen, a storage basket, table and chairs, towels, toiletries and LED lighting – you know, so you’re ensured enough beauty sleep between sets.

And for the super DIY-ers amongst you, VANFEST also have a common area set up so you can pitch their own tent whilst throwing shade at adjacent glampers. Win-win!

Nicer than my own bed, tbh

We’re Giving Away Weekend VIP Double Passes

Safe to say VANFEST has got us super pumped this year, and we’re feeling kind of generous so we’ve giving you guys the chance to win these crazy good weekend double passes to the festival. We’re talking a general admission weekend double pass for 16+ punters as well as one uber special VIP Weekend double pass  that entitles 18+ punters and their guest entry on Friday and Saturday, access to all bars, four complimentary drinks, all day catering, your own private toilets and access to a private grandstand.
