Australia’s New Rock Festival Rolling Thunder To Be Held In Medieval Castle

Australia just scored another new heavy music festival, with the inaugural and all-ages Rolling Thunder event to be held in February in a goddamn medieval castle in Victoria. Well, in a fake medieval castle in Victoria.

The first ever Rolling Thunder festival will be headlined by Texas rockers The Sword, and will play host to acts like Clowns, Beastwars, and US bands American Sharks, Radio Moscow and Kings Destroy. Catch the lineup in all its heavy glory, below.

Rolling Thunder’s 25 acts will do their thing across two stages at Kryal Castle, a medieval theme park situated near Ballarat. It’s just over an hour from Melbourne, so punters will have plenty of time to get their jousting sticks ready during the commute.

Aside from the tunes and medieval vibes, there will also be food trucks and market stalls on offer, with a photography exhibition and multiple bars to boot. It’s all going down on Saturday, 20th February.

Catch the full 2016 Rolling Thunder lineup alongside ticket details, below.

UPDATE 19/11/15: The festival will no longer be held in a medieval castle, following a communication breakdown between the venue owners and the festival promoters. Rolling Thunder is still expected to go ahead, with a new venue currently being sought.
