Fatboy Slim Announces Another Australian Headline Show

Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) has added a new Aussie headline show to his schedule, and it’s set to take place in Brisbane while the DJ and producer is down under for Sydney’s Electric Gardens festival in January.

The open-air Riverstage will host Fatboy Slim’s Brissie sideshow on Australia Day eve — that’s 25th January — with support acts still to be announced. The new date comes after a previously announced headline show in Perth, which was initially billed as a one-off Electric Gardens sideshow.

Fatboy Slim’s Aussie dates will see his unique take on acid house blended with an audiovisual production. “I’m technically a video jockey now. We write scripts for all the tunes, make films,” Cook says.

“In the past, I used to have to literally hold up the next record I was going to play to the guy who does my visuals, and he’d have to find the images to match it. And they were never synched.

“But now, because of the technology, no matter what speed I play at, even if I just chop quickly into it, the visuals are all synchronized. It’s a show.”
