Changing Lanes festival sells out!

FBi radio fundraiser Changing Lanes Festival has announced that the first time inner-west cultural event to be held on September 19, has sold out, with 2000 tickets being snapped up in just 10 days!

Tame Impala, Ernest Ellis and Bridezilla are headlining, taking to the streets of Newtown with song, dance and art. In true festival style, the entire area will be filled with food and market stalls, street performers and live visual artists.

FBi have joined forces with MAPS Entertainment to create an environment where art and music accessible. “We felt Newtown was the perfect starting point because of it’s vibrant culture. Another aim is bringing music out into the laneways of Sydney and bridging the gaps between the sometimes segregated suburbs of Sydney” says media coordinator Hannah Berzins.

With a stellar line up of music from established artists as well as Sydney’s best up and comers; a host of street artists and performers, DJs, markets, food and a pure party vibe from all sides of the cultural fence, Changing Lanes will not only offer something for everyone, it will change the way people think about festivals in Sydney.

Transcending genres from indie to hip-hop, dub-step and even 50s and 60s rock and blues, a host of Sydney’s favourite DJ’s (Purple Sneakers, Hoops, FBi guest DJ’s) will also be out in force to make sure there ain’t a static pair of feet in town.

The original concept of a local community music and art filled street fair has come to fruition as the result of “a small team of dedicated people who are working around the clock on the festival, to make it happen” “This last two weeks are about last-minute fine-tuning and making the festival as great as it should be! It’s fantastic to see the event coming together” says Berzins.
