Adele‘s hit single Hello isn’t short on cover versions, but not many of them are as hauntingly beautiful as the new acoustic take from Claudio Sanchez, the frontman of New York rock outfit Coheed And Cambria.
In a video (below) premiered by Team Coco, Sanchez gives Adele’s track the sparse acoustic treatment, and dedicates his gorgeous version to his mother.
“For my mother, who told me the new Coheed record is just as good, if not better, than the new Adele,” he says. “Honestly, what else is a mother supposed to say to her son? I love you, mom.”
There’s no word on any Sanchez & Adele collaborations in the works, but we imagine the pair could probably make for one of the most unexpectedly great duos if they decided to combine their extreme vocal talents. Catch Sanchez’ Hello cover below, and try not to cry.
Coheed And Cambria released their eighth studio album, The Color Before the Sun, in October.
