You Can Now Bid On Crazy Tenacious D Props With Proceeds Going To Paris Terror Victims

Tenacious D have launched an online auction full of weird and wonderful props and memorabilia with all proceeds going to Josh Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation which aims to benefit victims of the Paris terror attacks.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass have put up an array of things to buy, including costumes, stage props and posters.

As would be expected for anything related to Tenacious D, most of it is completely ridiculous and for that very reason also wonderful. There’s a 15-foot “fenix” from their Rise Of The Fenix tour, an entirely metal costume previously worn by Jason Reed and the lizard and the wizard costumes once worn by the guys themselves.

At the moment prices haven’t been pushed too high (the”fenix” is a steal at $500 imo) but the auction is set to continue until 5th January by which time they will no doubt sky-rocket.

Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation usually focusses on music programs and raises funds for musicians with disabilities and health issues, but he’s announced that all donations made to the foundation through to 31st December will go towards the families of those who lost their lives in the Paris attacks.

Homme’s band Eagles Of Death Metal were playing the Bataclan Theatre in Paris when gunmen opened fire killing 89 people. While Homme was not on tour with the band at the time he’s become a key support for the families affected. As well as this, he’s encouraged bands to cover Eagles Of Death Metal’s I Love You All The Time so the publishing proceeds can also be donated to his foundation.
