This Spot-On Violent Soho Parody Is For All The Times You’ve Guessed Their Lyrics

We’ve all tried to guess the lyrics to a Violent Soho song at some point, before looking them up online and realising how very, very wrong we were, and this spot-on new parody video of the Soho track Dope Calypso is so good it’s even got the band’s attention.

Eddie Salazar from local band Double Lined Minority has shared his take on Dope Calypso, appropriately titled ‘Nope Calippo’, which explains that while he wanted to cover the song, he couldn’t tell what the lyrics actually are, which is fair enough really.

Salazar’s parody (below) sees the real lyric “My only dope calypso” become three different phrases, including our personal favourite, “The glory hole Nintendo.” New Soho album title, maybe?

Since posting his parody to Facebook with the brief introduction, “You know you’re at a Violent Soho concert when everyone is singing different lyrics,” Salazar has been given the thumbs up by the Mansfield lads themselves. Behold:
