Groovin The Moo 2016 Lineup To Drop This Week

UPDATE 28/01/16: The Groovin The Moo 2016 lineup is here!

The plains are alive with anticipation with news that the Groovin The Moo 2016 line-up will be in our hands this coming Thursday 28th January at 8am.

A clock on the GTM website is currently counting down the minutes till lineup d-day, but there is yet to be any mention of a spot for Australian treasure Shannon Noll following the recent social media campaign petitioning for him to appear.

Some clues have been dropped however, with triple j continuing the trend started with this morning’s Hottest 100 teaser info of giving us random statistics and cryptic hints, via the following dot points:

• There’s going to be 27 artists on the line-up this year. That’s not including the usual triple j Unearthed comp winners and local acts added to each stop.

• Here’s one for the number crunchers. Between 2009 and 2015, 35 Unearthed winners have played GTM and three of those artist will back on this year’s festival.

• Also, there’s a band from the USA who loved playing the festival so much on their first visit that they’re jetting back over for a return this year.

The popular regional touring festival is scheduled to return in April and May next year for six stops through Australia’s regional centres. Kicking off in Maitland on Saturday 23rd April, followed by stops in Canberra, Oakbank, Bendigo, Townsville and finishing up in Burberry on Saturday 7th May, the festival is the only chance for a many regional music lovers to see some of their favourite bands live.

And while the tour is regional in geography, it’s international in scope, with last year’s line-up featuring the likes of Charli XCX, A$AP Ferg and Peaches alongside local heavy-weights like Wolfmother, San Cisco, Hilltop Hoods and more.

Tickets will be on sale not long after the lineup drops, from Tuesday 2nd February 2016 with dates and locations for the 2016 tour available below.

In the meantime why don’t you whet your insatiable hunger for “Moo-sic” with a recap from last year’s events.
