Sia, Natalie Portman, Jimmy Fallon Serenade Us With Weird But Cute ‘Iko Iko’ Cover

Pop pioneer Sia headed a sweet rendition of the Mardi Gras classic Iko Iko with Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman and The Roots on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.

Delightfully percussive and performed with the whole troupe wearing the signature Sia wig, the rendition included instrumentation from spoons, cups, a deck of cards and a cue ball.

Fallon sang a surprisingly strong backing vocal while Portman and The Roots brought a rousing life to the call-and-response chorus.

Iko Iko, a New Orleans song, was originally titled Jock-A-Mo and released as a single in 1953 by Sugar Boy and his Cane Cutters. Failing to make the charts then, it became popular in 1965 when pop group The Dixie Cups covered it. It has also been covered by Dr. John, Cyndi Lauper, and the Grateful Dead.
