Looks Like Brand New Are Releasing A New Album This Year

New York alt-rockers Brand New look set to release a new (and possibly final) album in 2016, according to an email from the record label which the band runs.

As Alt Press reports, an email from Procrastinate! Music Traitors, which was formed by members of Brand New, notes that aside from albums by Greater Pyrenees and Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band, a brand new Brand New release is also on the way this year.

While the first two of those forthcoming releases are listed as LPs, the Brand New release is only listed as having an “unconfirmed format”. Catch the full email right here.

Brand New’s next album would be their fifth, and their first since 2009’s Daisy. It’s not yet known if the release will feature the song Mene (below), which was released in 2015 as the band’s first new track since 2009. The album might also end up including the group’s other recent song, Sealed To Me.

In October 2015, Brand New frontman Jesse Lacey gave an emotional speech to fans at the band’s final show of 2015, where he said the the group “isn’t gonna last much longer”. With that in mind, fans are hoping the band’s next release isn’t their last.
