Hilltop Hoods Drop New Banger ‘1955’ Feat. All Of Your Favourite Aussie Artists

Hilltop Hoods have let loose another fire track off their forthcoming album Restrung.

The new song, dubbed 1955, is a collaboration with Aussie songstress Montaigne and beatbox wizard Tom Thumb, and the video also features a cameo from Briggs.

The Hoods have engineered a quirky music video to accompany the catchy track, set in a 1950’s American style diner.

MCs Suffa, Pressure, and DJ Debris star as old galoots, while Briggs plays a bumbling fry cook and Montaigne portrays a milkshake-sipping customer.

MC Suffa has told triple j that 1955 is “about living in a small town, a place where things don’t change too much… sometimes living in a small town is like living in a different era. I actually love small town life, obviously it has its drawbacks, but I really enjoy the simplicity and being part of a community”.

The track will feature on the hip-hop group’s forthcoming 19-track LP Drinking From The Sun Walking Under Stars Restrung, recorded with the 32-piece Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the 20 piece Adelaide Chamber Singers Choir, which is out on the 19th of February.

The Hoods are also touring with the country’s orchestras to celebrate the realease.
