Australia Release New Single ‘Love Is Better’, Announce First Ever National Tour

Sydney’s own shiny Australiana pop band Australia (no points for guess how they came up with the name) have just released a new single called Love Is Better, with their debut national tour planned for April in support of the release.

A huge stadium sized pop song, Love Is Better is a very accomplished piece of songwriting and production from a band still so early in their career. When you factor in that all three of the group’s core members are producers in their own right though, it all makes a lot more sense, the single’s maturity coming from the hours the boys spent slaving over other people’s music.

The follow up to their previous single Who R U?, Love Is Better continues in the same disco guitar tinge new wave pop vein, the band proud of the influence of such great Australian bands as INXS and Icehouse. “We called the band Australia because it was that or Icehouse 2,” they said about their name and Aussie influence.

The tour will also mark the first time the South Coast via Sydney boys have taken their show out on the road, having fine tuned their live show over the last year. And having played pretty much every gig the city has to offer – from the 2am set at Newtown’s favourite debauched dance bunker Tokyo Sing Song, to opening to a full house at The Metro for Lime Cordiale – the boys are rearing to treat audiences up and down the south coast to the high energy show.
