Canberra-raised hip hop MC Citizen Kay has blessed triple j‘s latest Like A Version segment with a fun-lovin’ mashup of hits by rapper Kanye West, producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson and funk/soul legends The Commodores.
Footage of Kay’s Like A Version mega-medley (below) sees him and his crew — including members of Brass Knuckle Brass Band and vocalist Sarsha Simone — stitch together The Commodores’ Brick House, Kanye’s Gold Digger and Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk into four minutes of Friday morning fun.
While in the triple j studios, Kay also dropped his original track Life Give You Lemons, which features on his 2015 debut album With The People. Catch both performances in full, below.
Citizen Kay is currently supporting Illy’s Swear Jar national tour, and is set to play at New South Wales camping festival The Gum Ball this April.
