Will Ferrell And Chad Smith Unite Again, This Time To Throw A Quinceañera

Will Ferrell is teaming up with his twin-from-another-mother Chad Smith to throw a quincaeñera.

Yep, you heard that right: the 6 foot 2 comedian and the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer have announced that they are finally going to throw a long-awaited party to usher in their collective 15-year-old womanhood.

The quincaeñera, which is set to take place at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on April 29, will feature performances from The Chilis along with appearances from other musicians and comedians yet to be announced. Ferrell will do the hosting while Smith tackles the musical entertainment.

“I have only one great regret in life and it’s that I never actually celebrated my quinceañera,” Ferrell laments. “I’d like to think it was just a simple oversight by my mother, but there has been a void inside me for many years. Growing up on the mean streets of Irvine, California, I have vivid memories of all my friends celebrating their quinceañera.”

“With Red Hot Chili Peppers and a bunch of other really talented comedians and musicians by my side, we are going to right that wrong, and everyone is invited.”

It’s all for charity of course, with proceeds going to Cancer For College and the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, which is a not-for-profit founded by Smith’s Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate Flea.

It’s not the first time these remarkably similar-looking and incredibly famous men have got together under the limelight. In 2014 they squared up to each other in the drum battle to end all doppelgänger drum battles on The Tonight Show. Since then there has been plenty of friendly rivalry, bonding and banter with Smith first touting the idea of a combined charity show effort back in December 2014 and the two forming a lasting friendship.

Now the pair can don their tiaras, take up their scepters and usher in their womanhoods together. Feliz Quinceañera!
