20-year-old Troye Sivan isn’t just an international pop star, accomplished actor, YouTube celebrity and social media baron, he’s also a downright sweetheart.
The Perth (via South Africa) prodigy has a reputation for caring about the people who care about him, so much so that he recently took the opportunity to help a bisexual fan named Kelly come out to her mum.
As Pedestrian TV reports, Kelly was in the front row at Troye’s Washington D.C. concert where the pop whiz kid is currently smashing it on his Blue Neighbourhood LP tour.
She threw a note up onto the stage, which Troye read to himself before asking her, “Are you sure?”
After getting the official OK, he read out loud: “If you’re reading this, can you announce that Kelly is bisexual – Kelly’s mum’s in the crowd”.
To deafening cheers of approval, Troye then leant over to Kelly to shake her hand, blow her a kiss, and generally fill us all with a sense of collective hope for the future of human kind.
Kelly has since posted a video of the whole thing on Twitter, saying “THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING MY NOTE”
The encounter also seems to have left an impact on Troye himself, with more Twitter footage showing the singer recounting the event at another concert and referring to it as “one of the most insane experiences”.
