There’s A New Song Called ‘Shannon Noll Was Robbed Of Winning Australian Idol 2003’

It’s certainly a mouthful of a title, but we assure you this is a very real song by a band called The Cooks. The Melbourne group have just released an EP and Shannon Noll Was Robbed of Winning Australian Idol 2003 is the final track on the record.

It should be pointed out however, that the actual lyrics don’t have anything at all to do with the title, which ~could~ be taken as misleading.

It is only the most recent occurrence in what has been a second coming for the Australian Idol runner-up, with Shannon Noll hysteria over the last year running rampant, perhaps even confusing even the great man himself. In 2015 Noll’s gigs at RSL clubs and pubs all over the country started filling up after their respective Facebook events went viral, a trend which doesn’t look like stopping.

Since then he’s become something of a cult hero, with petitions arising to get Noll on the Groovin The Moo lineup and send him to Eurovision.

Someone is holding a ‘Shannon Noll Was Robbed Of Winning Australian Idol’ memorial event later this year, Aussie rapper Allday has professed his desire to collaborate with Noll, he made an off-the-chain surprise appearance at Usyd O-Week earlier this month and he’s appearing on the lineup for Perth’s Ship-Wrecked! music festival.

Shannon Noll Was Robbed of Winning Australian Idol 2003 is available at a nominal ‘Name Your Price’ on Bandcamp.
