Diplo Calls Out Zedd For “Fake Flume Drop”, Zedd Tells Diplo To “Shut The Fuck Up”

Mars (of M&Ms fame) has recruited Zedd and Aloe Blacc for a remix of Sammy Davis Jr.’s version of the 1971 Leslie Cricusse and Anthony Newley written song Candyman.

The song first appeared in the original version of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and on its soundtrack, and has now has been re-done by the German producer and American singer-songwriter in honour of M&M’s 75th anniversary.

Outspoken producer and songwriter Diplo has had a dig at Zedd on Twitter, for including what he calls a “fake Flume drop” in the video. The man behind Major Lazer goes on to admonish Zedd for selling out on the clip, tweeting “man come on.. it’s not all about the money”

Zedd didn’t mince his words in his response, calling Diplo a “jealous little bitch” and telling him to “do us all a favour and shut the fuck up”.

Diplo then negged Zedd hard, complimenting him on being a “great musician” before adding a backhanded (and underhanded) comment, “also I fucked your girl”.

It started to get really petty after that, with Zedd calling Diplo out his grammar..

It appears that Diplo has since tried to make peace with the German producer, tweeting “I just know you can do better… I’m praying for you”.

Then Deadmau5 got involved, because of course he did…

Whilst he’s still a long way off being as notorious as Deadmau5, it’s not the first time that Diplo has been caught up in a Twitter feud. Back in 2014 he tweeted that “someone should start a kickstarter to get Taylor Swift a booty”. The remarks were defended by Lorde who called him out for having a “tiny penis”.

Does Zedd & Aloe’s new creation rip off Flume’s signature sound? We’ll leave that for you to answer. The moment in question occurs just after the one minute mark.
