Bluesfest-Bound Artist Elle King Cancels Sydney Show

Elle King, the US singer due to play Bluesfest this weekend, has had to cancel her Sydney sideshow due to vocal problems.

King was due to take to the stage tonight to showcase tracks off her 2015 debut album Love Stuff, but she’s informed fans that she’s unfit to sing.

“Dearest Sydney friends, It breaks my heart to say that I am unable to sing tonight at my show. I travelled all the way to Sydney, but regardless of my efforts to rest, it seems my voice has left the building,” she said in a statement.

“I promise you I will play another show as soon as I can. Australia has been absolutely beautiful and kind to me on my first visit here. There is nothing I would rather do than play tonight and get rowdy with you all, but I am forced to do what’s best for my health.”

“I truly hope you can understand. From the bottom of my heart, I am sincerely sorry. Trust me, no one is as bummed as I am.”

The Ex’s & Oh’s singer is due to perform at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest tomorrow and at this stage that’s still due to go ahead. She’s also scheduled to play a set on Saturday. She’s only played one show in Australia so far in Melbourne earlier this week.

All ticket holders will receive a refund from Ticketek automatically.
