Could The Stones Roses Finally Be Releasing A Third Album?

It’s been a very long and bumpy road for fans of The Stone Roses awaiting a third album, the first since 1994’s Second Coming.

They broke up at the end of 1996 only to reform again in 2011 for a reunion tour that has seen them traverse the globe playing music festivals and headline gigs, including a slot at Future Music Festival in Australia in 2013.

Now, it looks as if the band are looking to add new material to their arsenal as their gear has been spotted outside a London studio. As reported by NME, fans saw the gear outside Paul Epworth’s Church Studios in London, suggesting that they are recording for album number three. Epworth is the producer who has worked with Adele, Florence + The Machine and U2.

British tabloids are now further reporting that the band is eyeing a summer (winter in Australia) release for an album to coincide with their live headline dates in the UK.

NME also popped down to the studio where they are reportedly recording the record and ran into Stone Roses drummer Reni asking him whether they were recording.

“I can’t tell you anything because I’ll get my arse kicked,” he responded, neither confirming nor denying.

Meanwhile, other fans have been waiting outside the studio and a few have managed to nab some news of their own. One fan on Twitter is alleging that Ian Brown told her that people will hear new stuff before June.

Hopefully that’s correct.
