I Killed The Prom Queen Announce ‘Music For The Recently Deceased’ 10th Anniversary Tour

It’s been 10 years since Aussie metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen released their breakthrough sophomore record Music For The Recently Deceased and they’re celebrating the occasion with a tour.

The band will play songs from the album as well as a selection of other favourites on a few special dates around the country in April.

Music For The Recently Deceased was the follow-up to their debut When Goodbye Means Forever and saw them fly to Sweden for the recording process. It was originally recorded with vocalist Michael Crafter, however, he was fired and replaced by Ed Butcher who re-recorded the songs with mostly new lyrics.

It’s the only record that Butcher recorded vocals for, as he was later replaced by Crafter once again in 2008 before the band broke-up. They reformed in 2011 with a new vocalist Jamie Hope and released their third album Beloved in 2014.

But if guitarist Jona Weinhofen’s comments are anything to go by, one of the band’s former vocalists may be returning to make a cameo on the upcoming tour?!

“MFTRD is an album we’re super proud of still to this day,” he said in a statement. “It’ll be fun to play it in its entirety which is something we’ve never done before. We’re working on bringing back an old friend to help out as well!”

Music For The Recently Deceased remains one of the most iconic heavy music albums released in Australia, inspiring bands like Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction.

IKTPQ are also currently selling the record on limited edition vinyl to celebrate the anniversary and 16 years of causing mayhem together.
