BONJAH Are Calling It Quits

Formed in 2006, New Zealand-hailing alternative rock-blues band BONJAH have announced that they are breaking up after a decade together and three full length LPs.

The group announced via Facebook on Sunday that they will play one final fairwell show in their adopted home town of Melbourne at The Corner on Friday, 24th of June.

“We are officially hanging up the boots & calling time on the band,” BONJAH explained in the post.

“We want to say a heartfelt and sincere thank you to everyone that has bought an album, come to a show or supported us in anyway. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

“It truly has been an amazing ride & something we will always look back on with incredible memories. We devoted our lives wholeheartedly to our music and made so many lifelong friendships along the way,” the post reflected.

Additionally, the band made a point of mentioning that it was always important to them to end things on their own terms. “Keeping the band together is simply not possible due to a beautiful thing called life happening. We are all still brothers & the closest of friends — we never wanted to be a band playing RSLs thinking of the glory days.”

Update 10/05/2016: BONJAH have added a second and final show after their fairwell show sold out. Details below.

Tickets for BONJAH’s farewell show are on sale now.
