The Triple J Textline Responses To The Splendour In The Grass Lineup Are Gold

triple j were handed the honours of announcing the Splendour In The Grass lineup and it turns out their listeners are a bunch of funny buggers.

Their textline predictably erupted when news of the lineup, which includes The Strokes, The Cure, Flume, The Avalanches and more, broke and there were some stellar responses in there.

Presenters Veronica & Lewis have shared some of those text via ABC News 24 presenter Kumi Taguchi who has read them out just for LOLs.

One texted in that there’s, “going to be so many tunas swimming around this year,” while another simply sent in another picture of a tuna, confirming what we’ve always known that tunas are the official mascot for massive tunes.

Another listener texted in “yasss Flume” which was probably just one of a million similar texts they received. Not everyone was happy future-campers though. The absence of Nickelback and Shannon Noll from the lineup had a few people disappointed.

“#WhatAboutNollsy,” one wrote.

Splendour is set to go down over three days starting Friday, 22nd July and tickets go on sale 9am Thursday, 21st April. Watch the reaction vid below and check the details under that.
