Three Charged With Drug Trafficking Following Raids On Melbourne Dance Clubs

Police have seized thousands of ecstasy pills, methamphetamine and cash in unrelated raids on two Melbourne dance clubs this month.

Three men have been arrested on serious drug trafficking charges after a task force stormed Two Floors Up nightclub in the city’s CBD and Brunswick’s Railway Hotel.

According to The Age, the men include a venue owner, a manager and a DJ.

As the paper reports, the Railway Hotel was raided on April 15th, with police arresting and charging venue owner Chris Lytras and manager Paul Polito following the discovery of a “substantial amount of drugs and cash”.

This occurred after an unrelated raid at the Two Floors Up venue on April 7th, where DJ Jason Peter Kolbeck – who’s also believed to have a financial interest in the club – was charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs after detectives found “what is believed to be several thousand ecstasy pills as well as quantities of other drugs believed to be methamphetamine”.

Kolbeck is reportedly set to front Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 25th.

Meanwhile, both venues have been allowed to continue operation.
