Audio From Prince’s Final Ever Concert Emerges Online

At the time of his shock death at the age of 57, Prince was in the midst of his Piano & Microphone world tour.

The Purple One had only just wrapped up the Australian leg, which saw him burn up the dancefloor with punters til 3am at some of his official gig after-parties.

And just one week before the genius musician was found dead inside his household elevator, he performed two unforgettable concerts in the US at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.

As punters who were lucky enough to catch His Purpleness at one of his final appearances Down Under can attest, the stripped-back Piano & Microphone shows were marked by a degree of intimacy rarely seen from the OTT rocker.

And now, a recording of what has become Prince’s final ever live show has surfaced online. The 90-minute piece of audio showcases a setlist drawing from every stage of The Purple One’s prolific career, and is bound to make fans shed more than just a few purple tears.

Some of the highlights include Prince’s cover of David Bowie’s Heroes (which is all the more heartbreaking because we’ve lost both legends within a space of a few months) and the Purple Rain finale, which features the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs with the Purple Prince.

Crank it to 11.
