Groovin The Moo & The Meeting Tree Issue PSA After Festival Controversy

Despite kicking off to rave reviews and a sold out reception, Groovin the Moo has released a statement after three incidents soured their weekend and brought the regional festival under some scrutiny.

In particular, Canberra attendee Joana Perkins felt that elements of the security operation had treated her in an aggressive and patronising manner after a man had urinated on her. This bad news followed reports of two teenagers being treated for adverse reactions to drugs at the Maitland leg the day before, one of whom was a 15 year old girl who had to be rushed to hospital after she’d stopped breathing.

“While the majority of GTM’s Moo crew partied safely, we would like to continue to remind everyone to look after themselves, their friends and other Moo patrons,” reads the statement.

“Groovin the Moo takes the responsibility of patron care seriously. Our systems are developed in consultation with our service providers.

“We acknowledge several media reports with regards to the welfare of patrons and conduct of security and emergency service providers at both GTM Maitland and Canberra. Groovin the Moo believes all actions taken by service providers were delivered in the best interest of GTM patrons.”

The statement also comes with a tongue-in-cheek PSA from laid back synth-something somethings The Meeting Tree, which you can watch below.
