Blink 182 Were Going To Name Their New Album ‘Nude Erection’

With their first post-Tom DeLonge album Califormia set to be released in later this year, Blink 182 have revealed that they had strongly considered a few other slightly more left-field album names before they settled on one.

The band discussed the making of the record in a radio interview with KROQ, shortly after the release of the lead single off the album Bored To Death.

Bassist Mark Hoppus said that the band had picked the name for the record from a list of a few, and that before they chose the name California, they had seriously considered calling the record Nude Erection, No Hard Feelings or OB-GYN Kenobi.

He also went on to reveal that Blink had a full album worth of songs written and ready to record before DeLonge left the band, and as a result none of those made it onto the new record. “We threw them all away and walked in the studio with John (Feldmann) and wrote 28 songs in a period of 3-4 weeks,” he said.

The interview went to air shortly after former band member DeLonge revealed his desire to work with Blink again one day.

California will be released on Friday, 1st July 2016.
