Obama Gives Shout-Out To Finland’s Heavy Metal Scene

As US President Barack Obama comes to the end of his second and final term as POTUS, it seems as if we are finally seeing a more uninhibited version of the coolest president of our time.

Soon to be free from answering to congress, Obama has in the past year become more eccentric in his statements to the media. Apart from ruthlessly shredding Donald Trump on numerous occasions, he’s also confirmed via a video that he is not the lead singer from Korn, curated a playlist full of fly jams, and even recorded guest vocals for Coldplay.

Now Obama has condoned the popularity of heavy metal in Finland at a summit of European Nordic leaders in Washington DC. He also implied that there may be a correlation between the prevelance of heavy metal and Finland’s successful government.

“I do want to point out that Finland has perhaps the most heavy metal bands in the world per capita and also ranks high on good governance,” said the POTUS. “I don’t know if there’s any correlation there.”

According to Slate, Finland has the most heavy metal bands per capita in the world, with 54 bands per 100,000 people.

The comments have typically resonated with fans and metal media, with Metal Injection posting this incredible meme of Obama ready to hit up a mosh pit.
