Kanye West’s Ellen Interview Is The Most Confusing Thing You’ll Watch Today

Rapper, producer, designer and self-confessed saviour of the world Kanye West has used a new rant interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to bring the “realness”, and to confuse everyone with his Kanye-centric vision for humanity.

Kanye’s sit-down with Ellen (below) was less of an interview and more of an open platform on daytime television, so it was always going to be weird — seriously, we’re talking some Tom Cruise on Oprah level stuff here.

Pretty much this, but Kanye.

During his motivational-speech-turned-Shakespearean-soliloquy, Kanye tries to outline how his creativity can help the world through fashion, but he also says that his work is about connecting with people, not selling things.

That’s just one of the many confusing points in Kanye’s Ellen interview, so here are some of our other favourite things Kanye said which will make you even more confused:

“What’s the point of thinking?”

“Balls, balls, balls.”

“I have ideas that can make the human race’s existence — within our 100 years — better, period.”

“We got 100 years here. We’re one race… We’re a blip in the existence of the universe.”

“I remember going to school in the fifth grade and wanting to have a cool outfit… I want to take away bullying.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kanye compares his life to Will Smith’s character in The Pursuit Of Happyness, who invests his entire life savings in portable bone density scanners. He also plays the ‘5 Second Rule’ game with Ellen, and makes it clear he’s still annoyed that Mark Zuckerberg never gave him that $1 billion.

Ellen didn’t really know how to deal with it all, and later posted to Twitter:

Yeezy is expected to begin touring in support of his latest album The Life Of Pablo later this year.
