L-FRESH The Lion, OKENYO Team Up With Heaps Decent & Some Talented Kids To Workshop Fresh Tunes

Local legends OKENYO, L-FRESH The Lion & Wordlife’s Adam Bozzetto have teamed up with some talented kids to pen some new tracks which will be performed by five of the youngsters at Heaps Gay’s Vivid Sydney festival on Sunday, 12th June.

A combined project of Heaps Gay and Elefant Traks, the Heaps Decent workshop took place last week in Sydney.

Heaps Decent offer mentorship for young people from disadvantaged communities in Redfern and surrounding areas, and this workshop featured a host of Elefant Traks artists along with a bunch of enthusiastic kids all working together to write a brand new song.

The song in question will soon be downloadable free from heapsdecent.com, and will also get its live debut at the ‘Carnival of Queer Delights’ festival, set to go down on the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend at the Factory Theatre.

A part of Vivid, the event features headliners Collarbones and Rainbow Chan, as well as a slew of other live acts and DJ. The all inclusive festival will see art, music and performance come together on three stages. The action will kick off at 4pm, and run late into the night.
