Björk’s Full ‘Vulnicura’ Album Will Be Released As A Virtual Reality App Soon

Björk is currently in Sydney for the launch of her Björk Digital exhibition but for those who can’t make it to the Vivid Sydney event, it seems you’ll soon be able to experience part of it on your phone.

The Icelandic singer plans to release her full Vulnicura album as a virtual reality app. She is premiering the fourth virtual reality video from the 2015 album at the Sydney exhibition, showcasing stunning Icelandic scenery.

“It will premiere the fourth virtual reality video from Vulnicura and is a further step into completing the full Vulnicura VR album which will come out soon,” she wrote on her website about the event.

“I feel the chronological narrative of the album is ideal for the private circus virtual reality is: a theatre able to capture the emotional landscape of it.”

The exhibition opened last night at Carriageworks with a Björk DJ set that reportedly lasted for hours.

Samsung Gear VR headsets are currently being used at the exhibition to showcase the four VR music videos. Five more videos will be revealed as the exhibition moves around the world and they will eventually all end up on apps for iOS and Android.

You can get a feel for what to expect from the app with the 360 degree video for Stonemilker below.
