Watch Sigur Rós Play Epic New Song ‘Óveður’ At Primavera Sound Festival

Footage has emerged of Icelandic post-rockers and Splendour In The Grass 2016 act Sigur Rós performing their new song Óveður at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound festival over the weekend, and it’s an oh-so-glorious sight to behold.

Sigur Rós debuted Óveður at a “dress rehearsal” show in England on 30th May, but have taken full advantage of their revamped live show to perform the typically epic track for the world to see at Primavera.

Footage of Óveður in all its glory (below) sees Sigur Rós open their Primavera set with the track’s scratchy percussion and frontman Jónsi Birgisson’s calming vocals, before the song gets all glitched out and pretty much erupts.

Sigur Rós’ Primavera Sound set also saw the band perform fan favourites like Sæglópur, Kveikur, E-Bow and Ný Batterí as part of a 12-song setlist. Catch the band’s incredible Primavera Sound setlist in full below, alongside their performance of Óveður.

Sigur Rós will be in Australia this July to perform at Splendour In The Grass. The festival performance is said to be the band’s only show of their upcoming trip down under (*cue sadface*). The band released their latest album, Kveikur, in 2013.
