Scalpers Are Targetting Punters With Fake Dark Mofo Tickets

Having dished out a wild amount of sold out notifications for some of their events, organisers behind Dark Mofo 2016 have spoke out in an effort to ward off scalpers by educating would-be victims of some foul play afoot.

Organisers have recently become aware that some questionable individuals have been attempting to flog dodgie tickets online for around $200. Rather than leaving it to caveat emptor, they’ve spoken out explaining how important it is for ticket holders to be holding actual tickets.

“Legitimate Dark Mofo tickets have a one-time entry barcode that will be scanned upon entry…Dark Mofo and Mona are the only place to purchase tickets to our events, and we can’t guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through any other channels,”

Sold out events that are potential scalping targets include ZHU, Chelsea Wolfe, Savages, Ryoji Ikeda’s supercodex, Heart of Darkness and also pre-sale tickets to the late night event Blacklist. The statement assures that tickets are still available for the Saturday, 12th June session and also select door tickets.

“Due to capacity and safety concerns, we can’t let more people in to shows even if we want to. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time at Dark Mofo events.”

Celebrating all the cold and the dark in an internationally unique way, Dark Mofo goes down in Tassie today and sprawls across much of the month wrapping up on Tuesday, 21st June.
