Cloud Control return in March

To quote from the ridiculous press release “if 2010 were a basketball ring, then Cloud Control have truly slam dunked it.” Releasing their debut full length album Bliss Release to widespread critical acclaim, getting nominated for every award from the ARIA’s and JAward, taking out Best Album, Best Live Act and Best Video at the SMAC (Sydney Music Arts and Culture) awards, cleaning up at the AIR awards and currently sitting on the shortlist for the Australian Music Prize, not to mention their single There’s Nothing In The Water We Can’t Fight coming in at 18 on the triple j Hottest 100, the slam dunk comparison is an apt call, if a somewhat clumsy one.

Having just wrapped up an extensive summer tour that saw the band play on such festivals as Falls Festival and Laneway amongst others, the band giving Washington a run for her money in the ‘who can play the most summer festival race,’ Cloud Control are set to head over to Europe for extensive tour of the continent. Their single, There’s Nothing In The Water We Can’t Fight, having received much love from BBC Radio 1‘s influential host Zane Rowe, the band’s profile seems to be growing as fast overseas as it has hear. Following the European tour, the band will jet over to the US for a quick visit, taking in South By Southwest, LA and NY, before heading back to the UK for the release of Bliss Release Brit-side. And after all of this the band will be heading back our way for two shows in Sydney and Melbourne, or as the press release might put it ‘coming back to break the backboard, Shaquille O’Neal style!!’

Their return will also mark the release of their new single, My Fear #1, the prequel to My Fear #2 off Bliss Release. Keen to celebrate all this, the lovely people over at Ivy League are slated to release a deluxe edition of Bliss Release, the two disc set including the new single ‘My Fear #1’ as well as more exclusive and unreleased tracks, as well as a handful of outstanding remixes from the likes of Seekae, Djanimals, Spod, Fishing, Countbounce and more, which is set to be in stores this March.

In the meantime while you’re frothing for your cloudy release, here are the details for the upcoming local shows, with normal person tickets on sale from 9am local time, Friday 11 February, while there will be Frontier Member pre-sale from Wed 9 Feb 12noon AEDT to Thu 10 Feb 12noon AEDT.
