Former Slipknot Drummer Joey Jordison Talks Possible Return

Earlier in the month Slipknot’s former drummer Joey Jordison claimed he had to leav ethe band years ago due to an ongoing neurological disorder. Jordison has now added to his comments about his controversial split from the band, expressing that even his medical condition, Transverse myelitis, isn’t enough to keep him away from his brothers.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Jordison explained that he’d be open to sitting down and discussing a return to the fold with his leather-bound exes. “Honestly, I’m not trying to be dramatic, but if that was brought up, what I’d want to do would be to get together,” he begins.

“I’d want to see them, just hug it out,” he begins, suggesting that tensions might still be a tad high since his departure. “And feel that energy that we had when we were fucking young and hungry and all that shit.

“They’re my brothers. We’d hug and talk and do shit like we used to do. We used to sit up all night along planning this shit and what we wanted to do. So that’s how I’d wanna do it.

“It’d have to be in person. If it happened, that would be fucking awesome, but only time will tell.”

Jordison left Slipknot in 2013 amidst controversial circumstances. At the time the band chalked up his departure to “personal reasons” but didn’t elaborate further. He had been in the band since 1995, playing on four albums.

Last week Jordison made the claim that his departure from the band was the result of a medical condition, Transverse myelitis, which affected the use of his legs.

In this recent interview, Jordison had some kind words for the band’s first album since his departure. He describes .5: The Gray Chapter, adding, “I think it’s great. It’s fucking cool and I’m glad they moved on. “I’m glad they’re carrying on the name, because what’s important is the fans.”

Jordison seems to be doing fine post-Knot, announcing the new and improved Scar The Martyr V2.0, VIMIC. Slipknot continue to be the unstoppable beast they’ve always been, returning to Australia for a run of headline dates with Lamb Of God later in the year.
