NOFX Urge Fans To Stay Safe At Shows Following Fan’s Death

Punk rock lords NOFX have taken to social media to urge fans to stay safe at their shows following the death of a fan in Copenhagen.

A 20-year-old NOFX fan named Samuel passed away after the band’s show on Wednesday, 15th June at Copenhagen’s Den Grå Hal venue, after reportedly hitting his head on the ground during the concert.

Rather than seek medical help for the blow, NOFX say Samuel went to bed, despite feeling dizzy and nauseous. As their Facebook post details, “He never woke up.”

“Our hearts go out to his mother and friends… RIP Sammy,” the band say.

NOFX have paired their message with some stern words from Samuel’s mother, who has spoken out to warn other “invulnerable” young.

“If you’re drunk and hit your head, do not go to bed without getting it checked,” she says. “Let none of your friends walk home alone after a fall or blow to the head. Take care of yourselves and each other.”

Writing this, and no doubt reading this, is sure to invoke memories of the countless times something similar has happened to us, and it’s not a nice feeling. We reckon Sammy’s mum has some good advice.
