Kingslayers Blink-182 Have Just Thwarted Drake’s Chart Reign

After a more-than-two-month reign over the Billboard album charts, Drake has finally been dethroned.

And the unlikely ascendants to the seat of power are none other than Blink-182.

That’s right. The 40+ year old pop-punks have Cersei Lannistered the hell out of the global music industry, ruthlessly blowing all of their competition to smithereens to hit number #1 with their comeback album California.

As Rolling Stone reports, The Mark, Tom Matt & Travis Show sold 186,000 total copies of their LP in its debut week to smash Drizzy’s near-historic 9-week run in the top spot with Views, achieving what the likes of Nick Jonas, Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers all failed to do.

California marks Blink’s first Number One album since 2001’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (meaning it’s been 15 years and 17 days since they last dominated the Billboard 200, thus making their comeback pretty damn official).

Long may they reign.
