Meredith Music Festival 2016 Dates Announced, Ticket Ballot Now Open

Aunty M has awoken from her wintery slumber to proclaim the official dates for the 2016 instalment of her annual clambake.

Meredith Music Festival will celebrate its 26th year in December, returning to its usual stomping grounds near Golden Plains in Victoria for three days and two nights across the 9th, 10th and 11th.

And what’s more, if you want to be there, the ticket ballot is officially open.

The festival will return with all of its usual perks – no dickheads, BYO and camping under the stars – but with some added extras this year.

The big news is that the 26th Meredith is going to sound better than ever, with The Supernatural Amphitheatre getting fitted with a brand new Sound System.

“The Sup’ will sound sweeter up the back, down the front, on the sides, and in the middle,” promises Aunty.

As per tradish, the Sup’ will act as the main-stage, with Tai Chi masterclasses, a cinema and the infamous Pink Flamingo Bar just a handful of the other experiences that will also be on offer, while this year’s official spirit animal has been dubbed the humble yabby.

As for the lineup, Aunty Meredith says it’s “coming soon enough”. Last year’s blowout saw the likes of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Ratatat, Neon Indian, Tkay Maidza and Briggs perform.

The Ticket Ballot is now open to all comers, new and old, and will stay that way til exactly 10.26pm on Monday, 8th August.
