Devil You Know Say They Are No Longer Playing Legion Festival

UPDATE 02/11/16: Legion Festival 2017 has been cancelled.

ORIGINAL STORY:LA metal supergroup Devil You Know say they are no longer performing at Legion Festival across Australia in January 2017, after announcing a string of new European shows following the departure of drummer and Legion Festival organiser John Sankey.

This week, Devil You Know announced a run of concerts in the United Kingdom, which will see them perform between the 10th and 25th January, before two shows in Russia on the 27th and 28th January. Meanwhile, Legion Festival is set to take place between 21st January and 29th January.

When asked by a punter on Twitter if the band will no longer be able to play Legion Festival given their recently announced UK dates, the band replied with a succinct tweet saying, “Not playing that.”

John Sankey announced his departure from Devil You Know in June this year, explaining that he would be focusing more of his time on the future of Legion Festival. Music Feeds has contacted Sankey and Legion Festival for comment regarding Devil You Know’s statement that they are no longer perform at the event in 2017.

Devil You Know were part of Legion Festival’s first-ever lineup announcement back in January, but the band no longer appear among the list of acts on the Legion Festival website.

The first-ever Legion Festival is still set to host performances by the likes of Lordi, DevilDriver and Front Line Assembly come January. The festival will make an appearance in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
